It's probably the most important news since the Verygames' closure announcement: the organization that is going to host the team of Kévin "Ex6TenZ" Droolans for the next years is announced. It isn't common to hear as much rumors and speculations about a new team structure as it is for the ex-Verygames. A mysterious announcement that steps up every day, along with the players themselves that seem very excited to get to a next level.
And it seems truthful since, from our informations, ex-Verygames will now be considered as true professional players with salary of about 800€ a month. "Titan", you probably have never heard of this name but it is indeed the organization that has seduced the Franco-Belgian players. Only few would have bet on an Asian structure but it is! Founded by Damien Grust during the autumn of 2013, Titan eSports has already made the headlines while recruiting the Malaysian Dota 2 team Orange eSports, who finished third at The International 3. Its headquarters is settled in Singapore.
Even if till then the structure was focused on one game, its owner has decided to invest in CS:GO by proposing a tempting offer to Jérôme “NiaK” Sudries and his teammates. The Titans should therefore move in a gaming-house in Belgium, during the month of February, where they will train in totally favorable conditions. Ideal conditions for the next great event, which is going to be held in Katowice, in March.
A great reason to smile
The team is maybe venturing to a risky voice due to the youth and lack of information about the structure that can bring some surprises that are far too common in E-sport. However, it’s difficult to imagine such a life change for players and their manager without real precautions or guarantee. Only time will tell but for now, nothing went wrong with the Dota 2 team, which also is training in a gaming-house.
The future of Richard “shox” Papillon and his teammates seems bright. By being in similar conditions that their rivals Ninjas in Pyjamas adding to the serious of their work, 2 specific grades of the neo-Titans, the mixture is perfect and could successfully establish itself as the best team in the world. Still, be careful not to repeat the same mistakes that Astana Dragons and NiP did during their first weeks of life together, when they had struggled to perform on the international stage.
The first trip of the Titan is scheduled on Saturday, January the 18th in Dallas as part of the final season of 15th ESEA Invite, where they will be the favorites in the absence of major European teams.
We met Kevin “Ex6TenZ” Droolans for an exclusive interview:
You are joining an organization who managed to seduce one of the best Dota 2 team, and Valve, thanks to the eSport crates seems capable to offer $250 000 every quarter: the game and your team are stepping up to a new level. What is your state of mind about this situation? We're really excited and willing to give our best in order to have no regrets... We've learned many things from these past months and I think our team is more mature now. Titan is promising the best conditions we can imagine and it's like a new beginning for us, everything remains to be done here. We could almost say: it's now or never. Even if you should never say never! I'll be the only one to continue my studies, with a lighter planning though. I don't think it will restrain me from a great productivity, at the contrary, it will be a way to free my mind and to keep my feet on the ground. For my team mates, 2014 will be strictly focused on CSGO, another asset for us! Yes, we will keep him with us, with many others from the VeryGames staff like wakanouka, Mini and Shinzo. Jérôme keeps his role of manager, he will continue to handle the group's daily life and it's a full time job! He wants to get even more involved in the game, like he did on CSS. His status evolves with ours and it's a deserved reward for him, because he put up a lot of efforts to get us where we are today. There is indeed a huge enhancement on this point. All of us will train 3 weeks per month inside our gaming house probably based in Brussels, Belgium. It's a huge asset in term of productivity. It's better to train together, we can exchange our ideas efficiently, we understand each others easily and we get a lot more focused and creative. But it's a huge modification in our lifestyles, we'll have to learn how to live together, in collectivity, far from our families for some of us, and all that for most of the time... It's a new challenge. Our status modification implies some adjustments on this level, that's obvious. From now on, we wear the colours of an international organisation and we will have to be more present on the internationals medias... English lessons are already planned. Otherwise, it's awesome to be able to live thanks to your passion. Our project has grown these few past months and it motivates me to do my best and I won't forget that we are here thanks to our performances when we join a game server. As football fans say: it happens on the field! A great thank you to Titan and his founder Damien Grust for greeting us among them and for giving us the best conditions possible to approach this new season. Thank you to our supporters as well, we will give everything and we won't disappoint you in 2014! |
Strange to read the nicknames below with another tag that VeryGames, isn’t it? You’ll however have to get used to. Let’s introduce, the Titans:
